Down to single digit days now. Pretzel and I took advantage of our last day to sleep in…then started the packing.
Here is the packing list….or at least most of it……
- 2 tshirts
- 1 long sleeve tshirt
- 2 pair of jeans
- underwear and socks for 3 days
- swimsuit (hot tub at the end of this journey IS going to happen)
- leather chaps
- mesh riding jacket
- bandandas
- rain gear
- hoodie
- motorcycle boots
- pocket belt in lieu of wallet and purse
- duffle bag for the bike
- Note: pajamas are not included because I will be wearing those on the plane. Yep…I’m going to be THAT passenger
All of the heavy, large, or awkward stuff is what I’ll actually be wearing the entire trip….just needed to pack it for the plane to Utah. I will NOT be trying to wear leather chaps, an armored jacket, and monster boots through security and on a plane.
Whiskey was not a fan of the packing. I think she was trying to blend in so I would pack her, too.
In the end, with the change to a larger suitcase, it did all fit. All that is left are the little things I need until departure; like my toothbrush. What is still left, also, are the daily goodies to keep us going. Nic has very specific dietary needs, so this is what we will be picking up for person-fuel:
- Mixed nuts
- Jerky (only Matador….but that’s a taste preference)
- Trail Mix
- Sliced turkey and chicken
- Hard boiled eggs
I can’t believe that there are less than 48 hours until this adventure kicks off. I have a combination of feelings about all of this…..excitement, nervousness, silliness, happiness, and gratitude. I’m overwhelmed with the feeling of seizing life…..when there is something you want, you go and find a way to make it happen. Except for free baggage on airplanes, apparently….
